HEAD TEACHER
The Head Teacher is the main leader of the classroom and will be supported by an assistant teacher. They will perform duties that are instructional in nature. The Head Teacher has the ultimate responsibility for the design and implementation of engaging curriculum to maintain the interest of the children in our programming.
QUALIFICATIONS

Volunteer or paid teaching experience preferred

Friendly and approachable demeanor

Teachable spirit

Has prior experience as an art teacher, or Bachelor’s degree in childhood education with teaching qualification, or equivalent (preferred)

Current certification in First Aid and CPR preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain a safe environment for children at all times, build rapport with children

Develop challenging daily STEM lesson plans that build on the interests of children

Prepare the classroom by gathering and setting up equipment

Interact with children in a respectful and friendly manner

Handle discipline and guidance in a trauma responsive manner based upon given training

Collaborate with the program manager on program development

Observe student behavior and performance, and report identified needs to the program manger

Adhere to established policies and procedures as outlined in the policy handbook

Identify needed supplies and materials and report to the program manager while adhering to given budget
LEARNING CENTER HOURS OF OPERATION: 2:15-5:45pm MONDAY-FRIDAY

Compensation: $15-$18/hour, dependent upon experience.
